About me

Having worked, until 2019, on restoration building projects, I have finally got around to spending my days drawing, and painting, and trying to encourage and help others to do the same.

I felt like I needed to make up lost ground - all those years not gaining painting experience - so I set about looking for ways to make the learning process as economical and as efficient - as fast and rewarding - as possible. This became a project, then an obsession, and has given me a lot of useful tips, tricks and techniques to pass on.

Working with several groups, from hugely varied backgrounds, over the last few years has also shown me how incredibly nourishing and restorative the drawing and painting process can be (the testimonials page is .. well, testament to this).

Learning a skill, whatever it is, is good for the soul and good for the mind. Learning to draw (and to draw with paint), if you're committed to the process, can improve your experience of life immeasurably. It provides a total, all-absorbing, escape from whatever else occupies your time, it can be a 'meditation', and you experience the joy and exhilaration of the creating something absolutely fresh and original. I highly recommend that you give it a go!

Many thanks for visiting my website. I hope to meet you in person or online sometime soon.

Hugh
